Loss of a twin
Michael and I are devastated to report that we lost one of the twins yesterday (Twin A). We are mourning and grieving the loss of our little one, while rejoicing in the life of our "little tiger." Our due date has changed (with a singleton pregnancy, the due date is usually app. 40 weeks, while with a multiples pregnancy, the due date is usually 37 weeks) to December 12 from November 21. We are happy to say that the baby appears healthy and his/her heartbeat is strong.

Almost 11 weeks and counting...
Boy! I'll give someone a dollar if they can take this all-day sickness away. Any takers??
We have received some more fun things: Martha, an aesthetician at Rubs Massage, gave me two cute little baby jumpers she made herself, and my friend Elaine bought me the cutest maternity top. Also, Michael's Mom bought me a bunch of maternity clothes that I can't wait to wear out.
I actually felt like going out a little last Sunday, so Michael and I went to see X-men: Wolverine. Good movie, but unfortunately I started feeling very nauseated about halfway thru and had to go to the powder room a couple times. I was able to struggle thru the movie, but we went home directly after. Oh, Lord! Please tell me the misery of nausea will disappear soon!?
Michael is busy looking at strollers, layettes, highchairs, etc online and finding out more about the best items and furniture for twins, while I am busy reading books on pregnancy and such. I work entirely from home now, and have been doing accounting/bookkeeping, while Michael has been working on his state/federal projects both from home (so he can pick up my many meds and vitamins when needed) and going into the office 2-3 days per week.
We'll be updating the baby bump pics & ultrasounds in a few weeks (after my next doctor appt). Remember to click on the little images in order to get a clearer picture of all the photos. BTW: Michael says he can tell that my bump is getting bigger, but unfortunately, I haven't gained any weight- courtesy of nausea. *sigh*

The Baby gifts start flowing!
For Mother's Day, my friends at Rubs Massage got us some cute things: Sharon, the Assistant Manager, bought us some cute baby clothes, teething rings, and socks, as well as some flowers; Julianne, a massage therapist, bought us a Baby Leap Frog Learning wash & wax set; Melissa, the Manager, bought us a cute set of twins figurines and cookies (yum); Mary, massage therapist, bought me some beautiful flowers. Also, Michael got me a sweet Mother's Day card, as well as beautiful roses and bought home dinner; Michael's Mom has found me some maternity clothes (which with twins, I may have to break out and wear soon! Pray that they fit!). My Mom and brother Chris sent me the cutest e-cards, which really brightened my nausea-filled Mother's Day. Anna, my theatre director, bought me some cute little animal baby/mommy figurines...the gifts are flowing. We are thinking that, as soon as we hit the second trimester, that we are gonna register at Babies-R-Us and Target (of course, gift cards at those and Walmart will always be appreciated too
. What do you guys think? Good choices?
Michael had garage storage installed so that our Winnie-the-Pooh-honey-pot-purple-painted "nursery" can finally be made into a nursery (it has pretty much been a storage room/guest room over the years)- yay Michael!
My next Dr appt is June 5, which is also my brother Adam's birthday. I should be almost 13 weeks by that time (the beginning of my second trimester). I heard that the second trimester is the best b/c the nausea usually ends, and I'll actually start gaining baby weight- my baby(well, babies, in my case) bump should be a good size by then. Keep posted to the "Photos" section of this website to see the baby bump grow, as well as the "Prenatal Photos" section to see the babies en utero.
Loves,
Bree

Happy Mother's Day!
This begins our family blog! Check back to this site any time you wanna hear about what is going on in our lives! Michael and I will do our best to give weekly updates on the twins' growth (as well as Bree's growth
over the pregnancy term. Then, we will begin writing about the babies as they grow and mature. Please check the "Photos" section of this website to see all the Boyd-Martin family members.
Twins!!! Phew! Can you believe it?! We have only known for a little over 3 weeks and we are still shocked and psyched! We knew we were pregnant, but twins were a pleasant surprise. Bree is working hard to overcome the all-day sickness the twins are putting her through, while Michael is working hard to keep up with the chores as Bree rests. Bree is still working at Rubs and Queue, for the time-being. Michael is still working on projects for the state and federal government. More to come...
